The museum is an innovative and stimulating cultural resource that combines tradition with cutting-edge technology, offering us a unique and memorable experience in the world of archaeology and ancient history. Through 3D projections, digital reconstructions, and educational games, it is possible to discover the history of the cities of Herculaneum and Pompeii before the eruption of 79 AD.
Herculaneum Archaeological Park
The archaeological park extends over a vast area that includes the ruins of the ancient city, which have been excavated and restored over the centuries. The frescoes, mosaics, and sculptures adorning these buildings offer an indication of the wealth and artistic taste of the residents of Herculaneum. Among the main attractions are the ancient residences, the baths, the mosaics, the charred wooden artifacts, and the remains of streets and squares, which provide an insight into Roman life in the 1st century AD. One of the highlights of the Park is the Villa of the Papyri, a sumptuous Roman residence that has been brought to light with much of its structure and many of its precious mosaics still intact.
