About This Tour

Via Roma or Via Toledo?

In this tour, you will discover the history and the true name of this street that has been the favorite spot for the "struscio" (stroll) of Neapolitans for about 500 years. We start from the Gambrinus café, to begin the tour on the right foot, where a good coffee cannot be missed in one of the most beautiful and historic bars in Naples. We will start our walk by crossing the Umberto I Gallery, emblem of late 19th-century Liberty architecture. Continuing along Via Toledo, we will stop to enjoy an excellent sfogliatella. The route will then take us into the network of Spanish quarters, until we reach Largo Maradona, now become the Mecca of countless fans, and not only, of the famous Argentine footballer. We will then conclude the tour by visiting the beautiful Toledo metro station, defined as the most beautiful in Europe.

Gran Café Gambrinus

The tour starts with a good coffee in the most beautiful and historic bar in Naples. Here, you'll have plenty of coffee types to choose from, but we recommend trying the "Caffè Gegè."

Galleria Umberto I

We cross the street and right in front of the Real Teatro San Carlo, the grand entrance vault of Galleria Umberto I opens up, a shopping gallery rich in Liberty-style decorations topped by a gigantic glass and iron dome.

Via Toledo

After leaving the Galleria, we continue along Via Toledo to stop and taste a warm sfogliatella, a tough choice between the fragrant "riccia" or the soft "frolla".

Quartierti Spagnoli and Largo Maradona

We climb through the infamous neighborhoods, once feared for petty crime but now beloved for their folklore, music, colors, scents, and local smiles, reaching Largo Maradona, a square dedicated to the Argentine footballer, now an unmissable destination for photos, especially for Neapolitan fans and beyond.

Metro station Toledo

We descend from the neighborhoods to reach Toledo metro station, awarded the most beautiful in Europe thanks to its beautiful and bright blue mosaic colors.
